LUBBOCK, TX – Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has endorsed Representative Charles Perry (R-Lubbock) for House District 83.
“Representative Perry is a strong ally to protect our State Sovereignty and 10th Amendment rights in Texas,” stated Abbott. “He has been tested and he is a proven conservative. Please join me in supporting Charles for re-election to the Texas House.”
“I am honored to have Attorney General Abbott’s endorsement,” stated Rep. Perry. “He has worked diligently to uphold Texas’ constitutional rights against the Obama Administration’s overreach. We don’t need more regulations that burden our taxpayers and threaten our way of life. Texas has a proven track record of making decisions that are best for Texans and I am proud to stand alongside Attorney General Abbott as he continues protecting our great State.”
Rep. Perry further stated, “During Session, the House passed priority legislation that reaffirmed Texas’ Sovereignty under the 10th Amendment, allowed Texas to join the Interstate Health Care Compact, and curbed the influence and overreaching intrusion by the Environmental Protection Agency. I coauthored all of these pieces of legislation because I value our personal liberties and States’ Rights; unfortunately, they failed to pass in the Senate.”
Representative Charles Perry currently represents House District 83. He serves on the Corrections; Defense and Veterans Affairs; and Rules and Resolutions Committees and is a member of the Legislative Sportsman’s Caucus, the House Republican Caucus, and is Vice-Chair of the Rural Caucus of the Texas Legislature. Perry was ranked the 3rd most conservative member of the Texas House, and was recognized as a “Taxpayer Champion” by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, “Defender of Life” by Texas Right to Life, and “Courageous Conservative” by Texas Conservative Coalition.
